Remembering Bob Struzynski, ofm
Fr. Bob Struzynski, ofm, made his final journey to be with our loving God on Dec. 13, 2013. Bob joined us at the Mountain for eight years. Finding his way into fraternal life with us, he brought with him his great desire to care for the poor, particularly those in prison and to be, again, a fine theologian at St. Bonaventure University.
May the bright light of God’s glory and the deep intimacy of God’s love for each of us take on our sadness, dispel our darkness and bring us peace.
In His Own Words
Soon after Bob retired from the Mountain in July 2013 and moved to New Jersey, he recorded a series of videos for Holy Name Province about meditation and prayer. This wonderful five-part, 26-minute series of Bob in his own words and voice will forever help us to meditate and pray in order to bring us closer to God.
As part of the video series, Bob started blogging about meditation and prayer. His last written reflection was published on Nov. 20.
Bob's Franciscan Journey
"My journey began in 1955 in the chapel of St. Bonaventure University. I was making the Stations of the Cross one day when Father Fidelis O’Rourke, ofm, stopped me on my way out with the question, “Did you ever think of becoming a priest?” I answered, quite honestly, that I never did."
Reflection On His Time at Mt. Irenaeus
"To put it in a popular word of students, my time at Mt. Irenaeus has been awesome!"
Liturgical Reflections
Bob authored two reflections a few years back as part of a Franciscan Sojourners online series.
